I did not come up the traditional path. No degree on the wall. No CPA after my name. What I have is over 30 years of real-world financial experience that started at 17 in a CPA firm where I learned bookkeeping from actual ledger books. I learned job costing on the job at an electrical contractor. I learned retail, multi-location accounting, payroll, HR, and insurance as a full charge bookkeeper and eventually Business Manager of a multimillion dollar construction management company. I did not read about these things. I lived them.
In 2020 everything shifted. With more time to think, I asked God what was next. Within a week of praying about starting a business, two people came to me separately asking about taxes. Both had been in business for years and had no idea what bookkeeping was. That was my answer. I saw the gap. Women were out here building businesses, making money, and nobody was teaching them how to manage it. The entire online coaching world was focused on marketing and sales. The money conversation was missing. I was called to start it.
I launched Boss Up Bookkeeping on November 10, 2020. I spoke in rooms with a handful of women and rooms with hundreds. I coached. I strategized. I watched women step into their power when they finally understood their numbers. I undercharged because impact mattered more to me than income. I had a nine to five that gave me the freedom to show up and serve without desperation. That was always intentional.
Life asked me to pause. I scaled back, kept my most loyal clients, and focused on my family. The pull to return never left. When the time was right, I stepped away from corporate life to consider what was next. Every opportunity I explored asked me to build someone else's dream using everything I already pour into my own business. A trusted client asked me point blank why I was not walking fully in my calling. I could not ignore that. In December 2025, I came back. Differently. Bigger. On purpose. This time I am not letting anything stop what I am building.
